The Monticello Home, built circa 1900, was a stately and beautiful home originally constructed in Downtown St Petersburg on 2nd Street and 3rd Avenue N. In 2005, the current owners saved the home from certain demolition after the land was sold for development purposes.
The City of St Petersburg diligently worked with the current owners to facilitate a move to its new location in the Historic Old Northeast Neighborhood. While the move was certainly an undertaking, the restoration proved to be even more so. In order to maintain the City's historic standards, many items throughout the home had to be custom fabricated. From the banisters and spindles, to baseboards and window casings, every detail throughout the home was carefully examined and masterfully recreated to the historic charm and craftsmanship.
